A respected community elder, Elder Kochoov, has disappeared during a hunting trip to a secluded northern valley. The only survivor, his nephew Miiiginiya, was found scarred, frostbitten, and with fragmented memories of a battle and a sudden earthquake. Now, a new party, assembled by Elder Kastiki, must journey into the mysterious Valley of Blackhollow to discover Kochoov's fate.
The adventure begins at the Wosagic trading outpost, a bustling hub where the rescue party can gather gear and intelligence. The journey to the valley is a perilous one, with optional encounters including being spied upon by members of the Keetoowagi Federation. Once inside the dense, humid valley, the party will discover a mysterious purple goo and signs of a violent struggle at the original base camp.
The truth lies within an old hunting lodge that conceals a hidden tunnel entrance to an abandoned mine. The mine contains a mysterious laboratory where disturbing experiments were conducted with rare earth minerals. As the party uncovers the dark secrets of the valley, they will confront a powerful Wendigo spirit, born from the tragic death of Elder Kochoov. This custom adventure sets the stage for a larger campaign, tasking the players with uncovering the Keetoowagi Federation's involvement and bringing justice to those responsible.
